52 Weeks
Happy New Year!
As with every new year, everyone is taking on new adventures, trying things they've never done before, retrying things that have failed previously, etc. I won't act like I'm not in that number. The excitement of a new year is definitely not lost on me.
For the last couple weeks, I've felt myself fall into a bit of a creativity slump. Between the bleak weather and life in general, I just haven't been in the right mental space to create, whether that was writing or shooting. But that's what I love about a new year; it's a chance to start from the beginning and go again. And I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for a fresh start.
As someone who has said for years that she's not creative, I believe that this year has the chance to be one of the best years of my creative life. Full disclosure: I'm definitely not sure what that means yet. I'm absolutely up for the challenge, though. I have to see how this pans out.
To get my creative juices flowing, I've decided to do a personal project that has always intrigued me, but I never had the courage to actually take on. That project, ladies and gents, is the 52 week project. One photo. Every week. All year. Sounds simple enough, right?
Hahahahaha...sure, Bre.
Now I'm no cynic, but I know that as simple as it sounds at week 1, it'll likely be far less simple by, say, week 31. But I know that this has the power to elevate my photography in ways that I can't even comprehend yet, and for that, I'm doing it. I can't wait to see how this evolves over time. Fingers crossed I can keep this up all year!
So, week 1/52: The beginning.
See you next week!
