About Breana
Welcome to my page!
My name is Breana Stallings, and I’m a self taught natural light portrait photographer based in Birmingham, Alabama. Documenting is my passion. I fancy myself an amateur historian. I photograph because memories are priceless. I love being able to know why things are the way they are, and photography is my way of being able to tell a story that, when you think about it, almost immediately becomes a memory.
Photography was always a passion for me, though I didn’t realize how much until 2010. I’ve been documenting in some form all of my life, and finally made the leap into making photography my business in 2107. Once I made up my mind to do this seriously, I dove head first into learning all I could, something that will always continue. There’s always something to learn, after all.
I’m not a Birmingham native. I’ve lived in quite a few places in my life, but California was where I was born and where some of the most significant moments of my life happened, so California will always be home. I’ve lived in Birmingham for 14 years, the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere. I’ll always be connected to this place because it’s where I met and married my husband, and where our son was born. You can read about his first day of Kindergarten here.
Speaking of kids, I’m a big kid. I’m an introvert who becomes more and more extroverted as we get to know each other, and once that extrovert cat is out the bag, look out! I love being silly and cracking corny jokes. Even if you don’t laugh, I’ll probably still be in tears because of how bad the joke was.
