Children's Books Worth Reading

With a new season upon us and the holiday season quickly approaching, what better time to give books to the kids in your life? Here are 6 great books sure to put a smile on any child's face (and maybe even yours, too).

"Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See?"

A classic! It's a great way to teach rhythm, tempo, colors, and animals. I LITERALLY jumped at the chance to get this book for Jordan, and was blessed to be able to get it for free!

"Last Stop On Market Street"

I have made it a point to make sure I expose Jordan to book with African American characters. He needs to grow up knowing that he is represented, and this book did not fail. It is all about a grandmother teaching her grandson to find the beauty around them, even on a dirty street.

"Fletcher and the Falling Leaves"

This book is about a fox who frantically tries to keep all the leaves from falling off the trees because he thinks it means the tree is sick. This is a great book to help teach kids about what happens during the Fall.

"Time to Sleep"

This is all about animals reminding each other that Winter is coming and it's almost time for them to hibernate. I can't wait to get ahold of this so I can teach Jordan about what different animals do during the different seasons.

"Skeleton Hiccups"

This is a great children's Halloween book. It's about a skeleton who just can't seem to rid himself of the hiccups.

"The Hallo-Weiner"

What a funny Halloween book for children! A dachshund wants to dress up as something scary for Halloween so the other dogs won't make fun of him, but his mom makes him a hotdog costume, instead.

Have you read any of these books to your kids? Will you be adding these or any new books to your kid's book collection this season? Let me know in the comments!
