Thoughts on Fathers
As a person who grew up without a father, I never gave much thought to my relationship with him. I knew he loved me, but for a laundry list of reasons was never around to actually show that. So to watch this relationship from the beginning firsthand, to watch a father love and raise his child, it's not only beautiful to see, it's a learning experience for me. In a sense, I've already been able to give my child something I never had, and not much outweighs that accomplishment as a parent.
I'm so thankful to God for the love that flows between my husband and Jordan, and I'm excited to see how their relationship will mature as Jordan does. I always try to keep in mind that we're raising someone's husband and father, and I want to create a legacy of love, strength, and joy, and much of that must be learned from not only his father, but the many father figures he's surrounded by.
Happy (belated) Father's Day to every father and father figure doing their best to help the next generation be their best. Thank you for all that you do.
